My approach to the writing journal was just it was stated in the module. The one thing I have learned when given instruction, try not to veer. I normally review the skills and outcomes, and also the habits of mind practiced. So with relative knowledge to the assignment, I copy and pasted each question and focused on each one, individually, This is to avoid the distraction of thinking about the next question, instead focus on it one at a time. I block my study time into 45 mins blocks with 5 min breaks, I learned this from Brilliant.com, there is a formula that breaks down productivity into what they call sprints. This has helped me focus on purpose and meaningful work.
I enjoy Journal writing. Why? I have my own set of journals at home and this is just an extension of them. Journaling is an outlet for me, and it is my alone time.
I am a planner by nature, I do not like surprises, but if I do get them, I will have some kind of contingency plan to tackle them. I track all my expenses, I do mind nodes for planning any task or idea I have. I structure things chronologically and sometimes in a hierarchy structure.
I like the critical thinking aspect of working on projects, especially in the whole writing process. The engagement I get and just the mere focus on breaking down barriers in the whole literary sense for myself is very intriguing. The different types of writing and the way the writers articulate words to bring them to life with creativity. My biggest takeaway from these writing exercises and just making sense of the concept is gaining rhetorical knowledge. Before this class, I knew that reading was good for memory, vocabulary building, and this is just to name a few. But writing is much broader in the sense of actually understanding, comprehension, and context. I am looking forward to all the journal writing and making it my own.
